Incumbent Tony Gonzales (R) defeated Brandon Herrera (R) in the Republican primary runoff in Texas' 23rd Congressional District on May 28, 2024. Gonzales received 50.7% of the runoff. The House Republican who represents Uvalde, Texas, and voted for a gun safety bill after the school shooting there will face a runoff election in May.
